Australia has some of the most unique wildlife in the world and so much of it is at risk. The Spotted Quoll is just one such animal at huge risk from the relentless march of the introduced cane toad, a toxic creature to many of the native species. It's heartening to see efforts being made to save these beautiful animals like the Quoll from certain extinction. It seems nothing can be done to stop the cane toad which has swept from northern Queensland throughout the state into the Northern Territory and beyond. While we get concerned justifiably about the fate of elephants, tigers and rhinos, right here in our own country there are animals just as worthy of saving but they don't get the same publicity. In fact a lot of people wouldn't even know they exist which is such a shame. Let's hope there is a future for Australia's truly unique animals.
