The birds outside drive Fergus crazy and he chatters furiously at them while his tail twitches madly. A recent observation by animal biologists of small wild cats in jungle environments noticed them chattering at monkeys. The monkeys represent prey so one possible explanation for this chattering is that the cat is mimicking the sound of it's prey in order to get closer to make a kill. Interesting thought.

It's always an extraordinary thing when two unlikely animals make friends and this video is no exception. A fox is quite capable of killing a cat so I wonder how this wonderful friendship came about ? Perhaps only the fox and the cat will ever know. At 17 I was terribly concerned about the risks associated with an operation but he is none the worse for wear for which I'm very grateful. In fact he's eating better and has stopped his plaintive wailing so I can only imagine the discomfort he must has been experiencing. After some research it seems that a lot of cats even as young as 3 can have dental issues so it pays to be vigilant by checking their mouth regularly especially for signs of decay. Getting them to chew some chicken necks and raw meat is essential I believe. Surely a diet that includes these more natural foods makes a difference. Sasha who is about 15 and Fergus at 4 both have great teeth mostly because of the chicken necks that form a large part of their diet. Here's more about the problems bad teeth can cause and how to keep your cats teeth in tip top condition. http://www.cat-world.com.au/dental-care-in-cats ![]() I remember my old cat Boysee, not long before he died, somehow communicating to me that the end was near. I knew in an instant on that occasion, which didn't seem that much different from any other close times we'd shared but time stood still as I realised what he was telling me. http://pussingtonpost.com/crazy-to-think-your-cat-could-tell-you-she-was-dying/ |
