Jaguar hunting crocodiles
Wow this video is impressive, I had no idea that Jaguar hunt such dangerous prey as crocodile. It shows what a truly accomplished hunter and powerful animal this cat is and interestingly one of the few that hunt in and around water.
Behavourial problems and your cat
Now that Rueben is 17 his geriatric phase is really kicking in. Lots of wailing through the house, a growing obsession about licking the water out of the shower and an even bigger attachment to the water in the blue bucket. Mostly all he wants is attention and more cuddles than we have time available. It's a sad thing to see a wonderful companion slowly declining into needy old age. Sometimes he cries so much I think something is wrong, should I take him to the vet ? No he's just old and increasingly dependent. There are times when your cats behaviour changes for no apparent reason, they may start to pee where they shouldn't, or not eat, or show signs of aggression. It's always best to take them to the vet for a checkup, remember they can't tell you if something is wrong. This link is an interesting read about some of the issues that can affect your cats behaviour.

Cats always get what they want
Cats have a unique way of getting what they want. I know this from personal experience so when I read about this dear old cat it made me smile. Yes I thought, I just know how this happened.
Cats and boxes
Anyone who owns a cat knows how much they love boxes, and mine are no exception, but why ? Fergus particularly likes empty beer cartons, sniffing all over them and inspecting every part of the opening before creeping inside for a better look. Perhaps this article will help explain our cats fixation on cardboard boxes that seems to eclipse just about anything else apart from an open cupboard door.
The cat from No 10 Downing Street
Just a plain moggie named Larry stalks the hallowed halls of the the English power room probably unaware of his special status. With just a bit of publicity this ordinary cat boosted cat adoption in the UK so how good is that. Imagine if President Obama adopted a cat ?
