Training your cat to use the loo, good idea or not ?

What I wouldn't give to eliminate (pardon the pun) cat litter boxes in my life ! With three cats all using one box I have a full time job keeping it clean. Yes I know how lucky am I that they share one box. The idea of a cat using the human toilet has obvious appeal but this article really made me rethink my admiration for the cat owned who've managed to train their fur babies to use the loo. Perhaps it really isn't a natural thing for a cat but the number one (pardon another pun ) obvious negative about it that you can't monitor kitty's health by keeping an eye on their elimination habits. This is often a critical first sign your cat is unwell.

I just love this story about Klepto kitty. He prowls the neighbourhood at night stealing bras, sponges, and even kids toys to bring home as a gift to his owner. What does your cat get up when you aren't watching ?

Have you got a Cancerian cat ? Rueben is my senior Cancerian cat and he really lives up to his astrological profile with his amazing personality. Here is a wonderful profile from Cat Wisdom if you have one of these remarkable felines.

This latest pastel is called 'Siesta' and it's my first pastel in almost a year and it's made me realise how much I missed the medium. Having experimented with oils it was an important decision to return to the medium I love the best and feel most comfortable with. Pastel just seems so natural. Since I love drawing pastel really is a natural extension and it's actually a relief to have recognised that this is what I want to do.
